From mid-April, public control points in Hungary for non-animal products from third countries will cease to exist
As of 15 April 2024, the Röszke Road Border Crossing (Országhatár 1.) and the Zoll Platz Kft. (Szeged) in Csongrád-Csanád County will cease to be public control points and therefore the control of products of non-animal origin from third countries will no longer be carried out (CHEDD). After their closure, there will be no public control point in Hungary that is accessible to all. Röszke will continue to be a border inspection post for products subject to controls. The other activities of Zoll Platz Kft. (Szeged) will not be affected by the closure.
The measure concerns imports from third countries of products of non-animal origin (food use) covered by European Union legislation, which are subject to the following legislation:
- Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1793;
- Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1158;
- Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/949;
- Commission Implementing Decision 2011/884/EU;
This measure does not apply to the other two control points designated in Hungary. Companies will be able to receive their own consignments unchanged and the official controls required by law will be carried out.
