Article 18 (2) of Directive
92/65/EEC allows Member States of the European Union to lay down national
animal health conditions for non-harmonised animals.

Article 8 (A)(1) of Directive
91/496/EEC describes how the import controls should be carried out. Import
controls of such animals arriving in an entry BIP located in a different MS
than the MS of destination in which the animals will be imported, have to be
carried out in that entry BIP to verify the national animal health conditions
of the MS of destination.

Samples of the national animal health certificates of
non-harmonised animals for verification purposes can be found at the bottom of
these webpage.

Certain live animals (e.g.: laboratory animal, zoo
animals) can only be destined to an approved body, institute or centre as laid
down in point c) of Article 2 of Directive
92/65/EEC. The list of such approved bodies, intitutes or centres of Hungary
is available by clicking HERE.

For additional information and further national animal
health conditions of non-harmonised animals please contact the Animal Health
and Animal Welfare Directorate of the National Food Chain Safety Office of
Hungary (NFCSAO-DAHAW) via aai(a)nebih.gov.hu e-mail
address.

From 1 January 2017, the NFCSO-DAHAW does not issue import permits for non-harmonised animals and products any more. However, the established national import certificates (listed below) still have to be used and need to accompany each and every non-harmonised consignment dispatched to Hungary.

Article 27 of Commission
Regulation (EU) 142/2011 provides for special prior authorisation and
follow-up rules for the importation and transit of samples for educational,
research and diagnostical purposes.

A bilingual authorisation sample for verification purposes
can be also found at the bottom of this webpage.

The bilingual authorisation is issed by NFCSO-DAHAW, any request shall be sent to the above mentioned e-mail.
